I am going to start right off and say -- nope. It's never too late. It may be too late to call it a New Years Resolution, but essentially -- it's a goal.
And this month's goal was inspired by a good friend of mine who is an amazing mother of three and an incredible athlete.
It started last Sunday after all our Easter festivities. We were exhausted from 8am church service and family lunch. We took a family nap, as you may remember me discussing last week, and were having a lazy afternoon. I had 5 miles I needed to run, but I had just decided to skip it.
I was flipping through Instagram when I saw one of my friend's post. She posted that she had been working hard on a fitness goal of her own. She was going to run at least one mile every day. And she did. Every day for twelve weeks.
I kid you not -- I got off my butt, texted her that she inspired me and ended up doing a 5-mile family run later that afternoon.
Jamie, thank you for being such an inspiration.
It then inspired me to make a fitness challenge of my own.
For the month of April, I am doing a mile of something every day. Whether it's walking, running, biking, elliptical or swimming, I am going to do a mile. The second half of that goal? Not beat myself up if life happens.
Like today. It's 9:56 on Sunday evening and I just realized I didn't do my mile.
You know what, it's ok. I will aim to do it tomorrow.
What is a goal you've set for yourself this month?
