We wandered around the historic grounds of Tuckahoe Plantation, past lush gardens and massive weeping willows, all the while wiping sweat from our brows and trying to avoid the mosquitos. Regardless of the conditions, we had a blast with Lauren and Chris during their engagement session.
Chris is an Arkansas boy so he, of course, came prepared with a pocket square and breathable clothing. Lauren was dolled up with gorgeous curls, a royal blue dress that made her eyes pop and the cutest boho chic sandals.
We loved the chemistry between Lauren and Chris. They immediately perfected our poses and moved on to making each other laugh and creating sweet moments. After several romantic kisses, we asked them to give each other a simple hug. Chris immediately lit up and Lauren immediately started laughing. Allie and I looked at each other confused until they explained the "grandma hug" and how it is a running joke in their relationship. They proudly demonstrated for us the nuances of this special hug, and while doing so, gave us the sweets moments to photograph.
As the sun began to set, we quickly moved from location to location taking advantage of the golden light and cooler temperatures. They were real troopers despite the heat and humidity!
Fingers crossed for cooler temps in September for their big day, but either way we know they will be playfully whispering in each other's ears and sharing their fun and adventurous love story with their family and friends.
P.S. Thanks for rocking that Auburn orange and blue for us! You know us so well. :-D
Here are a few of our favorites from their session.
