Ashley + Matt | Maymont Park in Richmond, VA Engagement Session
We've been dreaming of a snowy ... photo shoot since the inception of Strouse Photography. We've shot several winter weddings and plenty of days in the rain, but never snow -- until today! We just wrapped a dreamy Maymont Park engagement shoot with Ashley and Matt and we are buzzing from the unique backdrop and hours of fun we had.
Ashley is one of our sister-in-law's oldest friends. We met her for the first time several years ago at our sister-in-law's wedding where both Ashley and Allie were bridesmaids. Fast forward a few years and a cross country move for her and Matt and here we are! They made the trip down from PA and the weather was gracious enough to leave some snow on the ground and trees for their engagement shoot!
We made our way through the fields, cobble stone walkways, and Japanese gardens of Maymont. Ashley and Matt were true champs in the frigid weather and on the muddy paths. From the looks of their well coordinated outfits, you'd never know in between locations they were huddled beneath thick jackets and fuzzy blankets along with pockets filled with hand warmers.
Some spots had snow. Some spots had trees full of leaves. In some spots, it might as well have been a warm sunny day based on the dry shiny stones! The park offered so many great locations and Ashley and Matt offered up so many funny and romantic moments.
We are so excited to join in their special day next September and are so thankful their adventurous spirit finally allowed us the chance to shoot in the snow. Hopefully their toes unfroze on the long drive into the frozen north!
